The SFAA’s Indoor Archery Championships for 2017 were held on Sunday 12th February and 91 archers (10 cubs, 5 juniors & 76 adults) came together to compete in the association’s first championship event of 2017.
In addition to the Scottish archers that travelled from as far afield as the Shetland Isles and Inverness in the North to Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders, we also had the pleasure of being joined by archery friends from both the Welsh and English associations. This year’s competition has again continued the tremendous entry numbers that we have seen return to our sport in recent years to support our Indoor and Outdoor championship events as well as club hosted "classification" shoots that are held regularly during the summer months.
A total of 12 new SFAA Scottish record scores were achieved and this year the largest singular shooting style was the Adult Male Freestyle Recurve. Twelve teams participated in the team event that was won this year by the four ladies in the Pink Panthers Team. The full results lists are available in the 2017 Results section of the website and many photographs from the event have been posted on the SFAA’s Facebook pages. Our thanks to all those who donated prizes and contributed to the raffle that was tremendously successful and raised just short of £200.
The association extends congratulations to all of the medal winners and sincere thanks to all those members who helped to organise, manage and administer the event. Most importantly sincere thanks to all the archers who participated we hope you had a most enjoyable day.
