The Bill Douglas Memorial Trophy is awarded each year to someone who deserves recognition for their contribution to SFAA Field Archery in Scotland.
The nomination must be made by an SFAA Member(s) for an individual who has provided an outstanding contribution, service to the association or an outstanding example of sportsmanship within Field Archery in Scotland, to the SFAA, or an archery club affiliated to the SFAA.
All nominations received will be reviewed by each of the SFAA Club Representatives and a single score per Club will be collated to determine the winner.
Examples of the kind of activity / service which have been submitted in the past are as follow ;
- someone who has provided an outstanding service to the association or your club. They are always there to provide help wherever and whenever it's needed, they may or may not be an archer, but they deserve recognition for their outstanding work and support to the sport.
- an archer who has applied themselves in an exemplary way over the last year. i.e. taking part whilst dealing with a major physical/medical challenge.
- someone who has performed an outstanding example of good sportsmanship worthy of recognition.
We're looking for those individuals who go that extra mile to help to support or develop the sport or provide a shining example for others to follow. There may be other SFAA or Club members who think likewise so get them to send in a nomination as well. The more nominations that are received the better.
