The latest advice and, more importantly, instruction from both the Scottish and UK Governments can be accessed by clicking this link.
To be clear, the situation facing our country is grave and we urge all members to heed and comply fully with these instructions.
We are being told that;
- We must stay at home and make no unnecessary journeys or social contact.
- We must not leave home except for essential shopping, medical needs or to exercise no more than once per day.
- We must not have public gatherings of more than two people– excluding people you live with.
- You must not visit other people’s houses or socialise outside your own home.
As from today Police will be able to fine you if you break the rules.
As far as our sport is concerned, ALL indoor and outdoor venues must remain closed until further notice.
For the avoidance of doubt, using your club’s outdoor facilities, even on your own and it is within walking distance as part of your daily exercise allowed under the new rules, is not permitted.
You should not even contemplate travel to and from any archery facility as it is not an essential journey, either by foot or by vehicle, and you may be stopped and potentially fined by Police.
Apart from it being socially and morally unacceptable to expose yourself or others to the risk of accidental contact (leading to a potential transfer of infection), our insurance coverage will not be valid.
As per our previous advice (issued on 12th March 2020) the SFAA Shoot Calendar remains suspended on a four-week rolling basis and we will review our position at the monthly Board meeting considering the developing situation. In the meant time we urge you all to stay safe, stay at home, protect our NHS and save lives.
